🎨 Social Materials: Ipê Branding Page and Figma Project
Ipê Village is Brazil’s largest buildathon. A one-month pop-up city where hundreds of builders actually live together to prototype what an AI- and Crypto-native city looks like in the real world.
It is a step forward in Ipê City's long-term plan to build social technologies for a new city. You can read more about the project in the next sections.
We bring creators, specialists, technologists, and techno-optimists to Floripa to design the city of the future and experiment with tech-based solutions for systems of governance, education, coordination, identity, safety, healthcare, and other gov-related services, which we call parallel institutions.
✅How does it work
Ipê Village is a tech village in the North of Florianópolis/Brazil, with Hacker Houses running tech events and experiments for one month.
Venue & Accommodation
You book your own accommodation, a Hotel room or Airbnb close to Founder Haus, ideally within a 15-min walk. You can coordinate with others on Telegram or Discord to share an Airbnb.
Address: Av. dos Merlins, 156 - Jurerê Internacional, Florianópolis.
Florianópolis, Floripa, or as we prefer "Island of Magic", is one of Brazil's largest tech hubs with 2,000+ startups, a thriving ecosystem for AI and crypto, stunning beaches, and a top destination for digital nomads.
Jurerê Internacional is a beachfront neighborhood, famous for its high-end resorts and its unique private management, which guarantees exceptional maintenance, security, and amenities.

🏠Hacker Houses

Hacker Houses are the core hubs of Ipê Village.
They function as focused laboratories where builders work, deploy real systems, learn, collaborate, and host events.
The Houses will host topics about the most powerful emerging technologies:
AI House — agents, LLMs, robotics, automation Onchain House — Crypto, DAOs, DeFi, decentralized systems Privacy House — cryptography, zero-knowledge systems Partner Houses — infrastructure partners integrate their products
🌎 Why Join Us?
Build Real City Infrastructure
Design and deploy systems that run a real city, including digital identity, onchain governance, contribution tracking, grant distribution, public dashboards, marketplaces, and coordination tools. Your work is used by residents during the Village and can become permanent infrastructure for Ipê City and future internet-native cities.
Access Grants, Funding, and Token Rewards
Earn grants, token rewards, and funding for building useful infrastructure. Contributions are tracked onchain, allowing builders to earn tokens tied to their work and impact. Top teams receive financial support, ongoing backing, and opportunities to continue developing their systems beyond the residency.
Architect residents are eligible for:
$10k+ in grants and prizes
A fully funded residency at The Network School Singapore
Token rewards tied to contributions
Onchain reputation
Access to job opportunities and talent-partners matching
Access to investors and partners
Join a Global Techno-Optimistic Community
Work alongside engineers, startup founders, protocol designers, researchers, and infrastructure teams from around the world. Collaborate inside Hacker Houses focused on AI, crypto, governance, privacy, and coordination, and form teams to build products, startups, and open infrastructure.
Unlock Job and Career Opportunities
We work actively to match the best talents with our global partners. Builders often receive job offers, join startups, find cofounders, or launch their own companies during or after the residency. Your work becomes a live portfolio, visible to partners, investors, and hiring teams.

🚀 Why Is It Important
Our Governance systems are built on a 250-year-old operating system consisting of political institutions, based on social constructs and papers, and secured by guns.
Meanwhile, our modern economy runs on a digital-native operating system, consisting of the Internet and blockchains, based on networks and open-source code, secured by cryptography.

🔐 Cryptography
The main reason we have a multi-century technological gap between the governance system and the modern economy is the lack of a frontier for creating new governments or public services from scratch and competing with established systems.
Startups have already created new companies, media, communities, and even currencies.
Could they also build new cities and governance systems?
We believe they can.
🚀 Our Main Goals
Our main goals at the pop-up city are:
Fostering a techno-optimistic culture that believes in freedom, progress, and fairness;
Prototype a new governance system and parallel institutions using digital and decentralized technologies to address longstanding societal challenges such as chronic poverty, inefficient governments, and the rise of human rights violations.
